China has achieved rapid economic development in recent years, while at the same time improving people's living standards and making great achievements in culture and the arts. The Chinese are facing the world with the spirit of reform and opening up. Meanwhile, they also hope the world can approach and understand China.

"Experience China" is a series of activities carried out around the world by the Information Office of the State Council. It aims to offer a chance to people worldwide to experience Chinese culture in their own countries by attending shows, exhibitions, film weeks and book donation activities.

"Experience China in Geneva" is a cultural event especially designed for officials at the United Nations office, diplomats, heads of international organizations and the Swiss people so they can learn about China. It includes a variety show, photo exhibition, film week and book donation. The variety of activities that have been specifically prepared for the event will bring together some of China's most talented artists. We believe that through this event, people will gain a better understanding of modern China—a country that has inherited and continues to carry on its great national traditions, while at the same time, respecting, appreciating and learning from other countries' excellent cultures.
