Until the end of November 2014, the Yinchuan Comprehensive Bonded Area has realized an import and export trade volume of US$ 1.53 billion since it started operation in December 2013.
The bonded area is the core area of developing opening-up economy in Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region, and an important strategic platform for the construction of Silk Road Economic Belt, said Zhang Baocheng, the vice-director of the area’s administrative committee.
The high-end Halal food and Muslim commodities, cashmere and other four industries have been chosen as the pillar ones for the area’s opening-up development facing Arabian states and other Muslim countries. An Australian beef and mutton processing base project has been launched at the base and a strategic agreement featuring cooperation with a Mongolian Muslim food corporation has been signed to promote Halal food development.
The city of Yinchuan has formed cooperative relations with the city of Qingdao, a coastal city in Shandong Province, to explore more opening-up channels along the coast and deepen the cooperation between the eastern and western China.
In addition, Ningxia will also initiate the green passage connecting the Yinchuan Hedong International Airport with the bonded area through an expansion project.
