“It used to be dirt roads here, and very muddy in rainy days. After the reconstruction this year, we can enjoy jogging on the newly-built plastic fitness trails,” said Ms.Yang, who was doing her morning exercises at Fenghuang Park, Yinchuan on November 9.
Such sports facilities will be constructed at more old parks in Yinchuan. Fitness facilities, including basketball courts, football stadiums, tennis courts, gate ball courts, badminton courts, ping pong tables etc., will be built at all qualified sports parks within Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region.
According to the Sports Bureau of Ningxia, the autonomous region has got a sum of 100 million yuan from the central government’s lottery fund to improve the public welfare of the whole region. Over 41 million yuan will be used for the construction of 21 gym parks.
Various kinds of fitness facilities within those parks are expected to be be available for more citizens in Ningxia.
