The passenger throughput at Hedong International Airport in Yinchuan City, Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region, has totaled 5 million this year until December 3.
From 2011 to 2015, Ningxia Airport Corporation launched 34 new airlines connecting Yinchuan with 58 cities. A total of 10 international airlines to Dubai, Taipei, Bangkok and other cities were also put into operation radiating Middle East, Japan, Korea and Southeast Asia.
Right now, the third-phase expansion project of the airport is under construction. After it is completed in 2017, the airport can realize 10 million of passenger throughput, 100,000 tons of cargo handling and 97,600 times of airplane taking off and landing annually.
