Malaysian Tourism Minister Ng Yen Yen will open the Malaysia pavilion at the Expo 2010 Shanghai, China on May 1, 2010.
The Malaysian Tourism Ministry said in a statement here on Wednesday that Malaysia has lined up a number of activities for the duration of the expo running from May 1 to October 31.
Among the activities are cultural performances, business seminars, visual art exhibition, presentations and talks, cooking demonstrations, and lucky draws.
The statement said that visitors to the Malaysia pavilion would have the chance to buy various Malaysian handicrafts, art products and souvenirs.
In August and September, visitors would be able to join the celebration of Malaysia's 53rd Independence Day where there would be photo exhibitions, hawker-style cooking, and a showcase of traditional Malaysian games.
The highlight of the National Day celebration is the gala performance on Sept. 12, 2010.
Themed "Better City, Better Life", the expo has attracted the participation of more than 200 countries and international organizations.
It is also expected to draw more than 70 million visitors from around the globe, a record figure for any expo event.
Besides that, the expo offers a unique opportunity for countries globally to share their knowledge, culture, history, education and technology in order to create a better future for the world.
Visitors and participants can also explore the full potential of urban life in the 21st century and a significant period in urban evolution.
