Shanghai's neighboring Suzhou, a city known for its livability, is showing its achievements in protecting and renovating the city's cultural and historical sites and its pursuit of sustainable development in the Urban Best Practices Area at Expo 2010.
The official opening ceremony of the pavilion was held yesterday. The venue is at a joint pavilion in the central part of UBPA in the Puxi zone.
The exhibition features an exquisite Suzhou-style garden and residence. There is also a multi-media cinema and interactive area inside the pavilion, which contributes to the display of "The Protection and Renovation of the Suzhou Old City."
Su embroidery, Kunqu Opera and pingtan, a traditional art form performed in Suzhou, will also be featured.
