A total of 60 suspects involved in theft, swindling, and intellectual property rights crimes related to the 2010 Shanghai World Expo were arrested during the first half of this year, the Shanghai procuratorate office said Tuesday.
No details of the arrests or the investigations were available.
Chen Xu, Shanghai's chief procurator, said the procuratorate office would continue to concentrate on Expo security by investigating Expo-related cases in what they called a timely and effective manner.
He added that authorities would also ramp up the anti-graft drive to head off commercial bribery and construction fraud during the Expo.
The World Expo is open from May 1 to October 31 this year.
