Drinking tap water in the Expo Site all passed quality tests, announced Shanghai Health Authority recently.
In the first days of Expo 2010, visitors consumed about 250 tons of drinking tap water per day. In July, the amount climbed to nearly 1,000 tons per day.
The Expo Site has used more than 60,000 tons of drinking tap water, or about 2 liters for each Expo visitor.
Two more drinking tap water areas will be added to the resting area in the Expo Boulevard at the end of this month, bringing the total number to 110, with 76 in Pudong and 32 in Puxi.
The China Pavilion and provincial pavilions such as Ningxia Pavilion and Hebei Pavilion have also installed drinking water taps.
The operator of the water taps also organised a team to clean the facilities and keep order in the drinking water area.
