Indonesian President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono will visit the World Expo in Shanghai, China, before it is closed on Oct. 31, following success of Indonesian pavilion in attracting visitors, a senior official said Monday.
Coordinating Economic Minister Hatta Rajasa said that guests visiting the Indonesian pavilion as of Monday were 6.5 million, whereas the country only targeted 3 million visitors. "We must grateful as we have our own achievement," Rajasa was quoted as saying by the detikcom online news.
According to Rajasa, the World Expo is not only an event to perform Indonesia's brand, but also to bring closer the country to the world.
"It is hoped that the guests will get interested in Indonesia, then they will become investors here," said Rajasa.
