The Expo 2010 organizers delivered a report on the operation of the World Expo to the 10 members of the Executive Committee of the International Bureau of Expositions (BIE) in Paris On October 19.
The report covered the general operation of the Expo, shipment of exhibits, removal of pavilions, preparation for the Summit Forum and the closing ceremony, and the conference of the College of Commissioners General.
The Shanghai organizers also answered questions from some committee members regarding pavilion removal and the closing ceremony.
Steen Christensen, vice president of BIE and chairman of the Executive Committee, congratulated the organizers on the record number of visitors on behalf of BIE.
Expo attendance has hit 66.5 million since the event's opening on May 1, a record in the fair’s history, and the 1.03 million visitors flooding to the site on October 16 also smashed the single day visitor number record of 835,832 set by Expo Osaka in 1970.
Members of BIE's Executive Committee praised the organizers' work and hailed the operation of the event.
