Indonesia won appreciation from organizers of the Shanghai World Expo which concluded on Sunday as one of the favorite participants, President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono said.
"I heard that the Indonesian pavilion won the appreciation today. Our pavilion is one of the favorite stands," the Jakarta Post daily website quoted Yudhoyono as saying at a press conference in Hanoi prior to his flight back to Jakarta on Sunday.
He said he visited Shanghai early this week for a meeting with Chinese investors to straighten misinformation about Indonesia.
"I always tried to meet businesspeople because there was wrong information about Indonesia. After I explained it to them they eventually understood so that opportunities to cooperate were open, " he said.
The president visited the Indonesian pavilion in the world expo on Tuesday. The pavilion drew at least 7.8 million visitors.
Chinese Premier Wen Jiabao closed Sunday the six-month expo, which attracted 72 million visitors.
