Hu Jintao's next guest was Timor-Leste President Jose Ramos Horta. Hu said that he was glad to be acquainted with Horta and thanked Timor-Leste for its support of the Beijing Olympics. Horta said that China has shown an excellent organizing capacity in its preparation for the Beijing Games.

Hu Jintao then met with the President of Algeria Abdelaziz Bouteflika. Hu said this year marks the 50th anniversary of the establishment of the Sino-Algerian diplomatic relations, and China is ready to work with Algeria to push forward strategic cooperation between the two sides. Bouteflika said Algeria welcomes more investment from Chinese businesses and hopes to see bilateral relations reach a new high.

Hu then met with President of Sri Lanka, Mahinda Rajapakse. President Hu said China and Sri Lanka have set a good example for friendly cooperation between two countries with different national conditions and different social systems. The Sri Lanka President hopes that the two sides could further enhance cooperation in trade and economic fields.

The following guest is Vietnamese President Nguyen Minh Triet. Hu Jintao said the Chinese government wants to work with the Vietnamese government to "well steer the development of the relations". The Vietnamese president said his country attaches great importance to the development of friendly relations with China, and is ready to work together to actively implement the important consensus reached between leaders of both countries.

President Hu Jintao then met with Kim Yong Nam, the DPRK's top legislator. Hu Jintao said in recent years the China-DPRK relations have developed in depth, and the two countries will name the next year "Year of China-DPRK Friendship" to mark the 60th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic ties.

During his meeting with Kazakhstan's President Nursultan Nazarbayev, Hu called him "an old friend of the Chinese people" and extended a warm welcome to him. Nazarbayev said he came to Beijing to support his Chinese friends, and to encourage Kazakhstan athletes.
