In Chongqing, the series of trials resulting from a crackdown on organized crime have continued into their third day. 22 suspects went on trial on Wednesday. Among them was the only female, who is suspected to be a gang boss.

Xie Caiping, the only woman among the 19 suspected gang bosses, faced the city's fifth Intermediate People's Court on Wednesday.
Xie is charged with five crimes, including organizing a crime gang, running an illegal business, illegal detention ... and bribery.
Xie was a tax official in Chongqing. In 2004, she allegedly assembled mobsters and ex-convicts to start a gambling business.
Xie is accused of expanding her business into an organized gang ... by opening a chain of more than 20 gambling houses across the city ... and organizing group drug sessions.
