The Beijing municipal government will launch free A/H1N1 vaccinations for primary and middle school students Thursday.
A complete plan will be announced this weekend. Medical staff will handle procedures in schools.
Children will be vaccinated with parents' consent. The local government says the most serious outbreak is expected around December and the new year. The government says the vaccine is effective at 15 days before the outbreak. It has protected 70 to 90 percent of 10,000 recipients nationwide. Among primary and middle school students, the rate is as high as over 98 percent.
