Mangahas encouraged her fellow journalists to speak out and pressure authorities to act.

Malou Mangahas, Executive Director, Philippine Center for Investigative Journalism, said, "All of the people, who had promised to do something, take action on the killings of journalists - don't forget the story. Keep it alive, and move it forward."

Financial assistance is being offered to the victims' families.
