Wesley Sneijder and Walter Samuel scored late goals as defending champions Inter Milan twice came from behind to avoid a shock Serie A loss to Siena in the top-versus-bottom clash at the San Siro on Saturday.
On 18 minutes. Siena took a surprise lead when Massimo Maccarone was allowed to storm forward from the halfway line and fire in a 25-metre drive. Score Siena 1-0 Inter.
Six minutes later. Inter were level. Striker Diego Milito has been a revelation since his close-season move from Genoa. He lashed in his 11th league goal of the season from a tight angle. Score Siena 1-1 Inter.
After 36 minutes. A textbook curling free kick from Dutchman Sneijder put the hosts ahead. Score Siena 1-2 Inter.
