The warmer weather in Xinjiang Uyghur Autonomous Region didn't make things any better.
In Yili region, the melting snow-turned-to-floods are damaging thousands of properties. Local authorities handed out makeshift tents to shelter residents forced out of their homes.
In Inner Mongolia Autonomous region, snow and heavy rain disrupted transport in many cities. The average snowfall reached an incredible 20 centimeters.
Low visibility also forced major airports in the region to cancel flights.
