House prices are a priority for both ordinary people and top policy makers. Minister of Housing and Urban-Rural Development, Jiang Weixin, says although rising land and property prices can push up local governments' income - they may cause social instability. He's urging local governments to stop property prices rising too quickly.
Jiang Weixin, Minister, Ministry of Housing, Urban-Rural Development, said, "From my personal view, I believe house prices in China will face big pressure to increase in the next two decades. Because urbanization and industrialization will develop quickly during this period in China, but land supply is limited.
