Premier Wen Jiabao has met the Indian Foreign Minister S.M. Krishna in Beijing.
Premier Wen highlighted the 60 years of diplomatic ties between the two countries, saying it proves that friendly relations and development are the best choices to serve the interests of both countries, Asia and the world.
The two countries' decision to establish a telephone hotline between their leaderships, will also pave the way for closer ties in the future. Wen Jiabao said China is willing to work with India to boost mutual trust, to properly handle border issues, to cooperate in bilateral and international issues and to push the strategic partnership to a higher level.
Krishna delivered India's desire to intensify exchanges, to deepen mutual beneficial cooperation and to step up coordination in international and regional issues. He agreed that the two neighbors should solve border issues through negotiations.
