An employee of Foxconn Technology Group attempted to kill himself by cutting his veins Thursday in south China's Shenzhen City. He survived after medical treatment.
The suicide attempt came after 12 Foxconn employees had tried to end their lives, and 10 had succeeded, by falling from buildings so far this year. The incident happened at around 4:10 a.m. Thursday morning in a dorm of Foxconn employees, the police said. The man surnamed Chen, 25, was then rushed to hospital.
Chen, a native of Taojiang County in central China's Hunan Province, joined Foxconn on March 15, 2010. Police are still investigating the case. Earlier on Wednesday night, another Foxconn worker committed suicide by jumping off a building at the company's Shenzhen plant.
