The 2010 Shanghai World Expo welcomes the National Pavilion Day of Italy on Wednesday. The Italy Pavilion, located in the Zone C of Expo Park has attracted visitors with its distinguished design one that epitomizes the best of the country's art and culture.
At the mere mention of Italy, images spring to mind like chic clothes, Italian delicacies such as pizza or spaghetti, and of course sports cars such as Ferrari. And all those images are accurate, as a visit to the Italy Pavilion will tell you. There, you can learn all you want to know about this country, known as the cradle of European culture.
The main exhibition hall of the Italy Pavilion has the feel of a fashion studio displaying all the renowned Italian brands of haute couture. Four giant models, each measuring three-and-a-half meters in height, stand in the center of the square... along with smaller models and chic accessories embedded in the walls to echo the theme of "The Joy of Life."
Numerous catwalk shows are scheduled in the Italy Pavilion during the World Expo, inviting visitors to experience the latest trends of the fashion capital.
After a fashion show, you might also want to check out the display of vintage Italian cars. This vehicle first roared down the street in 1923, and it still runs today. If you want to sit in the driver's seat, you'll have to take off your shoes first, and you might want to be careful: it's estimated value is about one million Euros!
