Energy giant, BP has aired a television commercial in the US, apologizing for its role in causing the oil leak in the Gulf of Mexico.

BP's CEO Tony Hayward, says his company takes full responsibility for the worst environmental disaster to hit the US.

BP's efforts to minimize the spill's impact, have included laying over 15 thousand meters of boom... and the deployment of more than 1,300 boats.

BP will announce its second quarter dividend later next month. Some US Senators have called on the company to delay paying dividends to shareholders, until the clean-up bill for the spill is known.
