More and more Chinese students have realized that taking the college entrance exam isn't the only way to further their education. Studying overseas has become a very popular option for some third year high school students.
One week before the final exams many students gathered with an overseas education agent for a session on how to apply for universities in the U.S. They don't just want what they see as a better education but also a different life experience.
A 3rd year high school student said, "There are a large number of high ranked universities in the US. So I think I could have more opportunities."
Chen Tong, preofessor of Massachusetts Institute of Technology, said, "I recommend students who are eligible to go to top universities in China like Tsinghua or Peking University, to apply for Ivy League Universities in the US. If they do less well, they can still apply for the US' top one hundred universities."
