Interview: Steven Pienaar, South Africa
Q. That first game of the tournament it's a big event it's crucial for you to win it in a sense to get a good start, just tell me how you're going to go into that game and how important it is to win it?
A. I think we will go to the game with experience of the Confederations Cup not to lose the first game that's important and a point or win would be good, would be a good starting point for us but I think the players want to win and we know it's not going to be easy but that's our goal to win the first game and then make it easy for the next two games
Q. A lot of people are talking about security being an issue, you know South Africa very well is that an issue, do you think it's going to be an issue to players?
A. No everywhere there's problems about security even in America so I mean it's just things that you live with, it's a safe place the World Cup one thing I know about soccer in South Africa is it brings the people together they forget about all the problems and it makes everyone happy and I think that's what the people are waiting for and it's a big, big moment that no-one will want to let the country down by doing some stupid stuff.
