Summer has arrived, and with World Cup matches lasting late into the evening, soccer fans in the Chinese capital have even more reason to get out and enjoy the city's nightlife as they watch their favorite teams battle it out for the grand trophy.
Today let's head to a special place in an ancient alleyway to show you how people are celebrating one of the planet's biggest sporting events, Beijing-style.
Li Ang, Beijing resident, said, "You can watch soccer matches in many places in Beijing. Sometimes on projectors at cafes with terraces, and other times at bars like this place. Here, we play games, chat, and watch the matches."
Dai Jing, Beijing resident, said, "We mainly come for the environment. It's not so lively when you watch at home."
Huang Wei, Beijing resident, said, "I would definitely go out and watch matches with friends. The spirit of the competition is more intense. Even if I were alone, I'd go to an open-air venue and watch the matches."
