The Ministry of Civil Affairs says mudslide-devastated Zhouqu County in northwest China's Gansu Province has received 106 million yuan in donations. The region has also received relief materials worth more than 20 million yuan.
The money and relief materials have been donated to Zhouqu through the Gansu provincial authorities. The relief materials include over one thousand tents, as well as thousands of boxes of bottled water and instant noodles.
So far, more than 80 percent of the materials have reached the mudslide-hit areas. The remainder will be sent in the days to come. Authorities in Gansu issued regulations to govern the purchase, acceptance, and delivery of relief materials to ensure they are sent to the affected people in a safe and expedient manner.
