The film "Let the Bullets Fly" is shot by director Jiang Wen ("The Sun Also Rises"). Chow Yun Fat plays a character as "a visionary triad leader", and claims the movie is set in 1920s China. This is Chow’s second period piece set in China in as many years, counting the Mikael H?fstr?m war drama "Shanghai", which is set around the same period.
"Let the Bullets Fly" also invites popular Chinese actor Ge You ("The Banquet"), while director Jiang co-stars as a bandit who proclaims himself mayor of a remote provincial town.
The film, budgeted at US$18 million and scheduled for a late 2010 release, is described as an action-comedy.
