A volcano eruptions in central Java since Oct. 26 has killed 38 people, according to data from coordinating post in Pakem of Sleman district in Yogyakarta province.
The eruptions have seriously injured 42 people and caused 69, 412 others live in barracks or makeshift tents, said Furgon Hafid, official at Disaster Management Agency.
The most volatile Mount Merapi with 2,968 meters high re- erupted on Monday, triggering panic, Volcanology Agency said there is no sign that the seismic activity will decline so far.
The official said that tsunami triggered by 7.2 magnitude quake on Oct. 25 in Mentawai islands of West Sumatra had left 450 dead with 96 people missing and forced 14,983 others fled homes.
The tsunami left 515 houses seriously damaged and 204 others got minor damaged, seven bridges were collapsed and seven religious buildings were collapsed, said Hafid.
Mount Merapi is one of Indonesia's 129 most active. The previous eruption of Mount Merapi in 2006 killed two people. A 1994 eruption claimed 60 people's lives.
