US President Barack Obama has arrived in Indonesia on the second leg of his Asian tour. He is expected to meet with Indonesia's president, Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono. The White House says he's likely to shorten his visit to less than a day, due to the continuing eruption of Mount Merapi. Earlier, Obama finished a 3 day visit to India.

The 3-day visit ended with a lavish state dinner.
Earlier in the day, Obama endorsed India's bid for a permanent seat on the UN Security Council.
Barack Obama, US President, said, "In the years ahead, I look forward to a reformed United Nations Security Council that includes India as a permanent member,"
India has said a seat on the council would reflect its growing weight as a G20 nation. Its trillion dollar economy is helping spur global growth and its government is exerting increasing influence over issues from international trade to climate change talks.
Earlier at a news conference with Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, Obama announced an agreement to cooperate on energy projects to fulfill promises made during the Copenhagen Summit.
"We agreed to deepen our cooperation in pursue the clean energy technologies and this includes the creation of a new clean energy research center here in India and continuing our joint research into solar, bio-fuel, shale gas, and building efficiency." Obama said.
The visit also secured business deals worth 10 billion US dollars with India to create thousands of jobs back in the US.
