Visitors have flocked to Beijing's Bird's Nest National Stadium for the 2010 Ice and Snow Festival. The venue has been converted into a winter wonderland, allowing revelers to enjoy a range of sports and activities.
Beijing's National Stadium has once again turned into a world of ice and snow for the second annual festival. Over the next two months, people can enjoy all kinds of winter sports in the stadium regardless of whether it snows or not.
The stadium has been divided into two areas for the Ice and Snow Festival, with most attractions for children. Inside there is a snow castle featuring cartoon characters, sled runs, a chocolate house, bumper cars, and an ice rink. Outside the stadium, people can ski and snowboard along more than a dozen raceways.
A visitor said, "This festival is great, because kids like the snow. We are very happy to spend our weekend here."
A visitor said, "Beijing is very dry, and it hasn't snowed this winter. My son has little concept of snow. With this, he'll have a more distinct feeling of the four seasons. He likes playing in the snow a lot."
