The World Economic Forum is under way in Davos, where more than 25 hundred political and business leaders are attending the five-day session. As one of the most robust economies in the world, China has come under the spotlight at the event.
A forum focusing on China, dubbed the "Apperceive China" was held in the first run of discussions on Wednesday. Chinese entrepreneurs and scholars have discussed China's policy of innovation, legal reform and the development of the real estate market.
Liu Chuanzhi, Chairman of Lenovo, said, "Many Chinese entrepreneurs have been invited to the forum. I think it's because Chinese companies are playing an increasingly important role in the world market and we should be heard."
At least five sessions will focus on China during the event, which is the most in the history of Davos Forum.
Some analysts say the changes show China's growing weight in the global economy.
Professor Zhang Weiying, Peking University, said, "The forum sees many changes since the outbreak of global financial crisis. And one of them is that China has a more important position at the event."
Professor Zhang has attended several past forums. He says China used to be a listener. But as it's economy keeps growing, the country is showing its assertiveness, prompting the world to pay attention.
While China's rapid economic growth makes it a global engine, analysts say the country is also expected to shoulder more stress, making the Davos Forum a good platform for China to communicate with the world.
