Toyota says it "won't" restart production at most of its idle Japanese assembly plants next week. The announcement came after media reports, claiming Toyota would reopen most of its domestic factories as early as next week. The world's top automaker has halted vehicle assembly at all but two of the group wide factories in Japan.
And they're only producing a limited number of models. Toyota says it had lost potential production of about 200 thousand vehicles as of April 1st. Wednesday marks the 18th day of suspension at most of its Japanese factories.
