Taxi passengers in Beijing will have to pay one yuan more, as of this Saturday.

Responding to the rising gas prices, the Beijing Municipal Commission of Development and Reform announced the taxi fuel surcharge would be raised from one yuan to two yuan. The surcharge is only applied to trips longer than three kilometers.
