At Hainan International Port of Creativity, Hu said that the creative industry was "an emerging sector" with good prospects, and that innovative systems and scientific and technological support were key to the industry's vitality.

Hu also took the first high-speed railway in Hainan, expressing hope that staff working in the railway department can help modernize the country's railways.

Hu said China has developed a strategic plan to develop Hainan island into an international tourist destination, working hard to realize economic prosperity, social harmony, a good environment, and people's wellbeing.
