Wedding trends are changing drastically this year. As busy brides-to-be find it harder than ever due to time constraints to plan for the big day, many more are turning to the internet to find the best wedding services.

A whopping 92 percent of brides now use technology to research their weddings.

Experts say social media will also continue to play an increasing part in wedding planning throughout this year.

Kristin McClune, wedding and event coordinator in Los Angeles says people are going online for everything these days.

Kristin McClune said, "According to a survey done by Forbes Women, The Knot and Wedding Wire, 79% of engaged women have full time careers, so they don't really have the time to go out and visit the many different venues and vendors, so they are turning to online resources and that's not to mention the 89% of brides-to-be that actually plan their wedding during the workday."

Trends for 2011 include a return of sophisticated elegance such as Prohibition-Era 1920's decor and attire.

Elegance is one of the most popular trends this year including lace dresses and vintage styles along with big ball gowns. But contemporary modern weddings are still popular.

23 year-old Sarah Thompson is getting married on January 7th, 2012.

She says she doesn't follow trends, which is a trend in itself.

Sarah Thompson said, "I have noticed that one of the biggest trends is rustic themed weddings which I hate. It's actually been kind of difficult, because I'm surprised at how great of a trend having a rustic themed wedding is or a vintage or outdoorsy kind of wedding and I want the exact opposite. I'm very modern, very elegant, like a fairytale almost, when you think of fairytale. It's kind of classic and kind of very traditional."

Emily Graves, a 29 year-old bride-to-be says the ceremony itself is traditional and serious and then the reception is going to be a carnival.

Emily Graves said, "I'd like to say I'm adopting no trends. In fact for example, I love Peonies but they are very trendy right now and I don't want to have such a trendy flower because it will look dated. My opinion is anything that is too trendy will look dated in years to come and hopefully this marriage will last for years to come."

The big ball gown is back and bling is in. Colors for dresses are still white and off white.

Away from home destination weddings have doubled in popularity since last year.

And once the big day is over - when it comes to ensuring all those magic moments can be cherished forever - vintage photos are the way to go this spring.
