The Foreign Ministry has confirmed that Chinese diplomats working in Egypt have met with the leader of Libya's National Transitional Council.

Spokesman, Hong Lei, says the group recently arrived in Benghazi. They have observed the humanitarian situation, in addition to contacting Chinese companies and other organizations.

Hong Lei also revealed that Libya's Foreign Minister, Abdelati Obeidi, will stay in Beijing until Thursday as a "Special Envoy" for his government.
