Czech tennis star, Petra Kvitova has clinched her first Wimbledon singles title. She defeated Russian Maria Sharapova 6-3, 6-4 on Saturday.
The 21-year-old is only the third left hander to win the women's title after Anne Jones and Martina Navra-til-ova.
Appearing in her first grand slam final, Kvitova dropped her serve in a nervous opening game. But she stormed back immediately, maintaining a barrage of powerful, attacking groundstrokes to win the set.
Sharapova, who won the title as a 17-year-old in 2004, served raggedly but had no answers to her rival. Serb Novak Djokovic will play Spaniard Rafael Nadal in the men's final on Sunday.
