The top Chinese Communist Party leader Hu Jintao has attended a cross-strait youth exchange activity at the Great Hall of the People in Beijing.

He joined together with youth from cross-straits at an exhibition on traditional Chinese culture. Hu Jintao delivered a speech during the event. He said improving cross-strait relations has provided an opportunity for youth exchanges from both sides of the strait. He also hopes the younger generation can devote themselves to cross-strait cooperation and building a brighter future.

More than 6,000 Taiwan youths have joined in the cross-strait exchange program this summer. They will visit some famous sites together with another 3,000 youths from Chinese Mainland and discuss topics including the 1911 Revolution, environmental protection and Aerospace technology.
