On Monday, 19 trains were delayed for hours after a network failure on the Tengzhou to Zaozhuang rail line section due to stormy weather. The breakdown of the high speed trains has triggered anger among passengers.
Many trains from Beijing South Railway Station were shown as being delayed at Shanghai Hong Qiao Railway Station.
The first delayed train, G19 arrived at Shanghai around 11 o'clock in the evening. The five hour journey took seven hours.
Passengers getting off the train were tired and angry.
"No one explained, we waited for two hours."
"The train stopped moving for a long time, but we were not informed about what happened. The train stayed in a turning bend and tilted there. We were mad because we didn't know what was going on ahead."
Passengers on G151 arrived at Shanghai three hours later than planned, they feel disappointed by the service from the railway company.
"Train staff just apologized for the delay on the train. No one explained what happened. And there were no emergency measures either."
"They didn't prepare for such situations. Railway officials don't know how to handle problems when passengers ask them."
More than five thousand passengers were affected by the breakdown on the eleventh running day of the Beijing-Shanghai high speed train. Shanghai arranged public transport at midnight for the convenience of unlucky delayed passengers.
