France has reopened its embassy in Tripoli, after closing the site for nearly six months. A spokesman from the French foreign ministry said a special French envoy to the National Transition Council will be in the capital when the rebel leadership moves there.
Paris closed the embassy and recalled all of its diplomatic staff in February. France was the first country to recognize the NTC as the legitimate representative of Libya.
