Israel's president has called on the world to do "whatever it takes" to stop Iran from obtaining nuclear weapons.
Speaking in an interview on Israeli television, Shimon Peres did not specifically call for military action, but he did not rule it out.
Shimon Peres said, "It would seem that Iran is getting closer to nuclear weapons. In the time that remains, I don't know if it's a year, half a year or three quarters of a year, we must approach the other nations of the world to tell them, here the time has come to keep the promise. We should turn to the nations of the world fulfill your promises."
