Premier Li Keqiang has chaired the State Council's first plenary meeting in Beijing.
The meeting on Wednesday announced the State Council's division of work for the new leadership and its organizational setup. It also approved the State Council's work plan and mapped out the tasks for the new government.
Premier Li said it's important to implement all the tasks laid out this year by the central economic work conference and the government work report. The Premier added that the country's goals are to maintain sustainable economic development, to further improve people's livelihood, to promote social justice, and to build a transparent and innovative government.
Li also stressed the need to implement the government's organizational reform plans, as the new leadership faces the arduous task of transforming the government function.
