Chinese Premier Li Keqiang called for a stronger China-Europe partnership, in a signed article published by the British Daily Telegraph on Friday. It was the same day as when Premier Li delivered a speech at the 16th China-EU summit in Beijing.
Leaders from both sides agreed on a strategic development agenda during the high-level summit. They also pledged an ambitious goal of 1 trillion US dollars of annual trade by 2020. CCTV reporter Zhang He in London spoke to a Wall Street Journal columnist for his take on the article, as well as the trade relations between China and the EU.
