A Boeing 737 from the American Airlines crashed Tuesday night after landing at the international airport at Kingston, Jamaica, injuring 40 passengers on board, reports from Kingston said.
"The injured passengers have been taken to the Kingston Public Hospital," Jamaican Information Minister Daryl Vaz told the Jamaica Observer. "There are no reports of fatalities."
The Jamaica Gleaner newspaper said three people on board were seriously hurt. There were 148 passengers and six crew on board. The CNN reported 145 passengers and seven crew members were on the plane.
The plane crashed into two after arriving in pouring rain at the airport and overrunning the runway at around 10 pm local time. American Airlines said the flight originated in Washington DC and made a stopover in Miami.
