Iran's state-run IRNA news agency reported on Monday that the dead bodies of five, out of eight, murdered people in Tehran's Sunday "riots" have been retained for further forensic examinations.
The dead bodies of Seyed-Ali Habibi-Mousavi and four others who were killed in Tehran's Sunday "riots" have been retained for complete forensic and police examinations, IRNA said rejecting some media reports on Monday that Habibi-Mousavi's dead body was taken away by Iran's security forces.
Habibi-Mousavi, who has been introduced to be the nephew of the opposition leader Mir-Hossein Mousavi, was killed in a suspect shooting around Tehran's Enghelab (Revolution) square on Sunday, the report said.
Sporadic clashes were seen in some parts of downtown Tehran on Sunday and police forces fired shots into the air and tear gas to disperse protestors, the local satellite Press TV reported.
Meanwhile, pro-government demonstrators also took to the streets to protest against the opposition, shouting slogans in support of the government, Press TV said.
"Eight people have been killed in anti-government protests," Iran's Supreme National Security Council was quoted as saying by Press TV on Monday.
