The Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK) would continue to strengthen cooperation in various fields with China, the DPRK premier said Tuesday.
Premier Kim Yong Il told outgoing Chinese Ambassador Liu Xiaoming at their meeting here the fact that the two countries marked the DPRK-China Friendship Year and their premiers exchanged visits in 2009 demonstrated the vitality of two countries' friendship and deepened understanding between the two peoples.
The people of the DPRK were happy to see celebrations of the 60th anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China and the effective measures China had taken to cope with the international financial crisis, said the premier.
He also hoped China would accomplish more in socialist construction.
Liu said he felt strongly about the China-DPRK friendship, which was forged by the older generations of leaders in the two countries and remained unshakable over time. He vowed to work for deeper friendship between the two nations in the future.
