Two soldiers with the NATO-led International Security Assistance Force (ISAF) were killed in two separate incidents on Saturday in south Afghanistan, a press release of ISAF received here Sunday said. "An ISAF service member died in an IED (Improvise Explosive Device) strike in southern Afghanistan on Saturday," the press release added.
Another ISAF soldier, according to the press release, was killed during a small-arms fire in same region on the same day.
However, it did not give more details.
Nevertheless, the press release did not disclose the nationality and positions of the victims by saying "It is ISAF policy to defer identification procedure for casualties to relevant national authorities."
The casualties occurred while a military operation against Taliban in Marja district of southern Helmand province is in full swing since launching on Friday night.
According to Afghan officials, some 20 Taliban fighters have been killed and 11 others were detained so far in Marja district.
