Afghan forces during a crackdown against Taliban hideout in Wardak province 40km west of capital city captured two Taliban commanders and killed another, spokesman for provincial administration Shahidullah Shahid said Tuesday.
"The troops backed by the NATO-led forces raided Taliban hideout in Khawas-o-Khalil village of Chak district Monday night and arrested two Taliban commanders Mullah Rohullah and Mullah Ghafor," Shahid told Xinhua.
Another Taliban fighter Mullah Habibullah was killed in the firefight, he added.
Taliban militants have yet to make comment.
Two more Taliban commanders were arrested in the southern Kandahar province on Sunday while operation against Taliban bastion in Marja district of Helmand province is in full swing since February 13.
