Several passengers suffered injuries after a United Arab Emirates' flight Sunday hit an airpocket and fell to 2,500 feet over the western Indian state of Goa, civil aviation sources said.
However, the southern Indian city of Kochi-bound Emirates flight, carrying some 400 passengers from Dubai, landed safely at Kochi airport, the sources said.
"Some 70 passengers were injured and one has been admitted to a local hospital after the flight landed in Kochi. The flight hit an air pocket and fell from 20,000 feet to 2,500 feet while its decent above the airspace of Goa. The flight has landed safely and has been taken to the taxing bay after passengers were evacuated. Blood stains have been found on the flight," the sources said.
An investigation has been launched into the incident, the sources added.
