Air strike against Taliban militants in Kunduz province north of Afghanistan left four insurgents dead on Saturday, provincial police chief Abdul Razaq Yaqubi said.
"Taliban rebels were attempting to take an explosive-laden car to Kunduz city from their hideouts in Charadar district in the wee hours of Saturday but security forces identified and called in air power which attacked and killed four militants inside the car," Yaqubi told Xinhua.
Taliban militants have yet to make comment.
Regarded as the hotbed of Taliban militants in north Afghanistan, Chardara has been the scene of increasing militancy from where Taliban fighters organize their attacks in parts of Kunduz and the neighboring Baghlan province.
Furthermore, an explosion that shocked Khanabad district of Kunduz province Saturday morning killed at least one civilian and injured another.
